Labour Market and Education
The efforts to build up a business area are closely connected with requirements of workplace-oriented education possibilities. Extension of the location for the Institute of Higher Technical Education in Hollabrunn as well as strengthening of the Institute of Higher Technical Education in Mistelbach and establishment of a specialised course of study on Technical university in GIP-Vienna North-East are at the same time regional objectives as well as offers of co-operation to neighbouring countries. Additional offers of training and education in area of intercultural learning – connected with learning of neighbour languages – should bring additional qualification and thus create new working places.
The labour market has a close relation to developments in cities of Vienna, Brno and Bratislava. Although the rate of unemployment in Weinviertel lies under the average of Lower Austria the lack of working places in the region causes strong flow of commuters to Vienna. A significant reduction of unemployment has been achieved in hinterland regions through a settlement of businesses in area of Malacky.
The labour market service institutions in three regions create a platform for mutual exchange of information and experience.
