Regional Association for the Weinviertel European Region

5 regional development associations have been set up to cover the entire area of Lower Austria. In the Weinviertel the Regional Association for the Weinviertel European Region forms the platform of the Weinviertel Representatives of the political parties represented in the Lower Austria Regional Parliament.

110 communities of the Weinviertel are involved as members in the regional development work. The priority objectives are the combining of different interests and the involvement of the political representatives, communities and representatives of the social partners in joint lobbying for the Weinviertel. Moreover the Association intends to implement master projects to promote regional political aims and to build up a professional service, with the regional management, for the development of the region.

Regions are important units within the European system, and the success of the regions depends very much on the interaction between many complementary players and systems. People and companies are making growing demands on their living space and locations. Regional development is a professional added value process based on the principle of division of labour targeted on a common quality product: the region.
